Marcos de R. Antuna, Campaign Manager / Campaign Treasurer / Policy Director
As a District 8 resident, I am passionate about our local politics - and what I feel we can accomplish if we are truly dedicated. I am a veteran blockwalker and policy advisor, having worked with five political campaigns. I graduated from Duke University in 2004 with a BA in Linguistics, and earned MA and MAT degrees from Rice University in 2007 (Political Science) and 2009 (Secondary Education). I am currently finishing a doctorate in education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am a longtime K-12, college, and community educator. I am eager to see grassroots change come to District 8.
Vanessa Sanchez, Field Director / Fundraising Director
I have extensive experience with the community through my non-profit and volunteer work. My non-profit experience began in 2011 when I held a communications internship with a small business lending organization. I worked in communications until I earned my BA from Texas A&M University-San Antonio in 2013. Since that time, I have served in development roles at local non-profits, helping them excel in their work of improving the lives of San Antonians. In my spare time, I encourage others to vote, advocate strongly for arts education and causes, and am an avid member of the Texas A&M University - San Antonio alumni group.
Community Outreach Coordinator
I am a mother of 6, a grandmother of 7, married for 40 years, and, like many of you, deeply politically engaged. I have been the President of Gibbons Surveying & Mapping, Inc., a professional land surveying company since 1991, as well as the past owner of The Wedding Studio, a nationally recognized wedding planning firm. I currently serve as the Zoning Commissioner for District 9, as well as the President of the Greater Harmony Hills Neighborhood Association. I am pleased to let the people of District 8 know about the exciting movement happening through Tony's campaign.
Arthur Thomas IV,
I was born in Houston, Texas in 1978. I attended Baylor University and graduated in 2001 with a Computer Science degree. I moved to San Antonio in 2005 and currently live in Live Oak. I work as a developer at at small geotechnical and materials testing company.
I have been involved in politics since 2008. My main areas of interests are in election laws and voting systems; I believe these do not get enough attention in politics, but have a big impact on how voters make choices in our elections. I am a strong proponent of election reform and of approval voting, which I would like to see implemented in local elections.
Daisy Lopez Herrera,
Social Media Coordinator
I am a digital marketer who has lived in District 8 since I moved to San Antonio, Texas. Previously, I worked on political campaigns, for non-profits, and as staff in the Texas House of Representatives. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BA in Political Science, and have been actively involved in community organizing in our city. I am thrilled to see progress finally become a possibility in my district!
Daniel Arriaga, Social Media Coordinator
I am a lifelong San Antonian who loves this city. Working in District 8, I see a diverse and rapidly changing community in need of a strong advocate. I believe that Tony is that advocate.
I have worked in higher education and the K-12 system for the better part of the past seven years. I have earned two degrees: a BA in Political Science and an MPA, both from UTSA. Throughout this time, I have volunteered for various political campaigns. It is my firm belief that organizing at the grassroots level is the most effective way to bring about real change.
Ellen Pfeiffer, Policy Advisor and Fundraiser Coordinator
Ellen comes to our campaign with 20 years experience in the senior housing industry. She has worked with seniors from all income brackets, helping them to find safe and comfortable places to live. She is an expert on the programs that are available to help with funding for seniors.
She brings this experience to assist this campaign in helping all of our District 8 seniors, an important part of our constituent base.
James Holland, Assistant Field Director
I am a long time resident of San Antonio (since 3 years old), and love its rich historical mixture of cultures. I graduated from Colorado State University in 2008 with a B.S. in Construction Management. Currently, I am an Assistant CMT Project Manager for a small geotechnical engineering lab. My involvement in politics began in 2002, and since then, I have been involved with several local campaigns and organizations raising money, participating in field operations, and improving methods to share an organization's or candidate's story with voters. I look forward to helping Tony share his inspiring story with the citizens of District 8.
